Uh-oh. Looks like Uncle Joe’s gotten into the Robitussin again.
During a speech at a rally in Pennsylvania for Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, Vice President Joe Biden issued a physical threat against Donald Trump over his “Access Hollywood” video, calling it sexual assault and threatening to “take (Trump) behind the gym,” presumably to beat him up.
Biden made the remarks Friday at the Clinton event, according to the Washington Free Beacon.
“What he said he did and does is a textbook definition of sexual assault,” Biden told the Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania audience. “Think about this. It’s more than that. He said because I’m famous, because I’m a star, because I’m a billionaire, I can do things other people can’t! What a disgusting assertion for anyone to make!”
Biden had also been rumored to run for the 2016 nomination. Referencing that, he said he doesn’t wish he would have run for president. Rather, he wishes he had free reign to beat the crap out of Trump.
“The press always asks me, don’t I wish I were debating him,” he said. “No, I wish we were in high school. I could take him behind the gym. That’s what I wish.”
Firstly, Mr. Biden, if you were back in high school, you would have probably been serving a suspension for plagiarism.
Secondly, let me get this straight. You’re angry at Trump for what you see as “bullying” remarks that are tantamount to sexual violence. In return, you wish that you could bully Trump. You would like to “take him behind the gym.” So, what our vice president is saying is that bullying is OK if you can come up with a reason to do it.
Amazingly — or, rather, disappointingly, since I cease to be amazed at this phenomenon — an actual physical threat against a man running for president of the United States of America didn’t even rate too much of a mention in the national press.
If this were Trump, it would be front page. If it’s Biden, shift it toward the back.
